The recently retired USS Enterprise was our first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and took the name to ever greater fame. Later, WWII's USS Enterprise saw success in nearly every campaign of the Pacific War yet was scrapped at war's end. Though vessels carried the same name before, the mojo of the name USS Enterprise goes back to an early Navy ship, which saw success in the Quasi-War with France, the First Barbary War and the War of 1812. Johnson, and that seems appropriate for a president and WWII Navy veteran. A future destroyer is slated to be named for the late President Lyndon B. Murphy, who died in combat in Afghanistan, becoming the first member of the Navy since the Vietnam War to receive the Medal of Honor. Another is USS Michael Murphy, named for Navy SEAL Lt.
